The animal co-products and by-products processing units of Apostolos Papadopoulos Meat Company operate in the company’s Production Park in Lamprino, Xanthi. 

These two small units are processising all the co-products and by-products produced by the slaughterhouse and are necessary for the integrated management of the initial livestock. 

Animal co-products 

The edible animal co-products (offal and fat) after the appropriate processing are used in the production of cured meats and meat products or are sold as raw material for soups in the company’s butcher store at the Municipal Market of Xanthi and in mass catering professionals. 

Animal by-products 

Animal inedible by-products (skins), after undergoing the appropriate initial treatment are transported to specialized processors for leather goods further production. 

The remaining inedible by-products (bones etc.) are forwarded to the company’s rendering unit for incineration or sterilizatioon and then are transported to specialized processors for further goods production or disposed to the Sanitary Landfill as completely safe waste for public health and the environment.
