The processing units of animal by-products and sub-products of Apostolos Papadopoulos Meat Company operate in the company’s Production Park in Labrino, Xanthi.
The two small units process the animal by-products and sub-products that come from the company’s slaughterhouse and are necessary for the integrated management of the initial livestock.
The edible animal by-products (offal and far) after undergoing the appropriate processing are used in the preparation of cold cuts and meat products or are sold as raw material for soups and tripe in the company’s butchery shop at the Municipal Market of Xanthi and in catering professionals.
Animal inedible by-products (skins), after undergoing the appropriate initial treatment are transported to specialized processors for further processing and production of leather goods.
The other inedible by-products (bones etc.) are forwarded to the company’s Rendering Unit for incineration or inactivation and from there are transported to specialized processors or transporters to the Landfill as completely safe waste for public health and the environment.
